ABOUT ME
I was hooked on fishing the moment I caught my first small trout as a child. Introduced to the sport by my father an avid fly fisherman like his father before him I grew up surrounded by a deep passion for the water. My father is also the author of one of the first books on fly fishing in Slovenia, making this more than a hobby it’s a family tradition.
I’ve spent my entire life exploring the rivers and streams of Slovenia, gaining knowledge and experience I’m excited to share with you.
To me, fly fishing is more than just a sport. It’s a chance to disconnect from the fast pace of modern life and reconnect with nature in its purest form. Those rare, magical days when everything aligns and we cradle the fish of our dreams those are the moments that stay with us forever.

Jure was an outstanding guide for us and made sure the entire experience was memorable. 6 months before booking I reached out to Jure to enquire about taking a couple real green fly fisherman out for the day. From that enquiry on his communication was prompt and accommodating. The day before our trip was scheduled our flight was canceled, which put our day of fishing in jeopardy, Jure was very accommodating and was not at all concerned if we were unable to make it to Ljubljana, we managed to get a flight and the trip went odd without a hitch. Despite very warm weather and skinny water due to an ongoing draught, we caught plenty of fish. Jure was patient with us and was a great teacher. Not 10 minutes after our first lesson my son had caught his first ever trout, and first fish on a fly. We had a wonderful experience fishing with Jure and I cannot recommend his guiding service enough. I only wish we had more days to fish.
I had the absolutely best day fishing with Jure and Cotic Flyfishing!! He put me on dozens of fish, many of which exceeded 20 inches and a couple much bigger. I had a giant fish almost to the net and lost it, but Jure put me right back on fish.
We fished nymphs and dries and focused our efforts on Marble trout exclusively (but he knows where the rainbows are as well).
Jure knows the Soca and its tributaries incredibly well. He taught me a lot (and I’ve been fishing all over the world for longer than he’s been alive). Jure has an incredible enthusiasm and was patient and kind. He taught me to see the elusive Marble trout.
I landed a number of nice fish and as I said lost a monster. I plan to go back and fish with Jure again. I can not imagine a more knowledgeable and better guide for this area. Thank you Jure!!!

Jure was a fantastic guide and I highly recommend his services. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a success trip. The kid works so hard all day, searching for the correct fly for each situation. I will certainly be back!
You know when you're trying to manage your expectations about a dream fly fishing experience? Yeah. Expectations surpassed. Jure was so accommodating and kind and patient and even taught me how to euro nymph. I cannot wrap my head around the soca river, its beauty, and the size and quality of the fish. Obsessed. Can’t wait to come back. 10/10. 💜
We had an amazing time with Jure and he worked really hard to put us on some big fish and teach some new techniques along the way. We used Jure for the first time this week. An absolutely superb guide that goes above and beyond to make your fishing experience memorable. We are coming back in December to fish for the Hucho.
When we arrived to Slovenia we didn't plan to go fishing that same day. Only the days after, on which we've also scheduled two days with Jure. The weather forecast for these was really bad however. So we hurried to get fishing asap and got on the phone with Jure. He gave us some really valuable tipps on how to fish, based on the region we were in, we quickly bought our licenses online and went fishing on our own. We managed to catch 2 beautiful marbles!
So even though we had to cancel our days with Jure he helped us out last minute over the phone and without his tips we probably wouldn't have caught anything...
So I highly recommend him!
When we come back to Slovenia (hopefully under better conditions 😅) I'll definitely book him again.
